City law enforcement personnel and any other authorized city park official shall be authorized and directed to enforce all the provisions of this code and for such purpose shall have normal powers of police officers and in accordance with the procedures and with the approval of the city police chief. The city council may appoint such number of assistants and other employees as shall be authorized from time to time and may authorize the chief of police to deputize such persons as may be necessary to carry out the functions of the park code.
