A. Appeal of a decision of the ethics board that the code of ethics has been violated, or a decision of the city council as to an admonition, reprimand, censure, or removal, may be filed with the Snohomish County superior court, Washington State.

B. Any person who files with the ethics board a false charge of misconduct on the part of any public official or public employee when the person knows it is false shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

C. In addition to criminal penalties, violators shall pay a civil penalty of five hundred dollars, or three times the economic value of anything received in violation of this chapter, whichever is greater. Any monetary penalty assessed civilly shall be placed in the city’s general fund. (Ord. 017/2019 § 7)
