The city has prepared a series of maps which approximate boundaries for the following critical areas within the city limits: geologically hazardous areas, wetlands, floodplains and floodways, shorelines, creeks, streams, and natural drainage courses. These maps provide only approximate boundaries of known features and are not adequate substitutes for more detailed maps and/or studies that could identify alternative locations of known features or additional critical area features not illustrated on the map. Copies of the maps are available for viewing at the Monroe City Hall. The flood insurance rate maps (FIRM) are available for review at Monroe City Hall; please contact the city engineer.
