10.10.040 Penalties.
A. Any person who violates any provision of this chapter and Chapter 10.14 MMC for which no penalty is prescribed shall have committed an infraction and shall be assessed a monetary penalty not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars for each such violation. A forfeitable penalty schedule for infractions shall be established through the city’s fee resolution. The city may enforce the penalty schedule through its violation bureau and/or may forward it to the Monroe municipal court or any other court having jurisdiction of traffic cases.
B. Any person who fails to respond to a notice of infraction by either:
1. Paying the amount of the penalty prescribed for the infraction within fifteen days of the date of the notice in the manner specified on the notice; or
2. Appearing at a hearing requested by the person to contest the notice of infraction shall be assessed an additional monetary penalty of twenty dollars. (Ord. 009/2018 § 6; Ord. 008/2008 § 4; Ord. 030/2006 § 3; Ord. 1232, 2001)
