A. A license obtained under this chapter expires December 31st of the calendar year for which it was issued and may be renewed only by making application as provided in MMC 5.48.100.

Application for renewal must be made at least thirty days before the license’s expiration date in order that the license be subject to the renewal rate. Failure to apply for renewal at least thirty days before the expiration date shall disqualify an applicant from the renewal rate and the applicant shall pay the current rate for an original application.

B. When the department denies renewal of a license, the applicant may not be issued a license for one year from the date of denial. If, after denial, the department finds that the basis for denial of the renewal license has been corrected or abated, the applicant may be granted a license if at least ninety days have elapsed since the date denial became final.
