The purpose of the single-family zoning districts in the city of Monroe is to promote the existing small town character by providing that new development will be compatible with the density and setbacks of the present housing stock. The purpose is also to provide for a broad range of housing types and densities for all Monroe residents. Single-family zoning districts are envisioned to be served by the city water and city sanitary sewer systems when developed to their zoned densities. Single-family lots shall be limited to one residence each except as otherwise prescribed. (Ord. 005/2019 § 10 (Exh. B))
